Import Information
As of January 1, 2001, the Government of Canada has introduced
new laws controlling the possession of firearms and acquisition
of ammunition within Canada.
There are three classes of firearms in Canada:

Non-restricted (most rifles and shotguns) |

Restricted (handguns) |
 |
Prohibited (automatics (full or converted), some handguns)

You cannot bring a prohibited firearm or a replica firearm
into Canada!
You cannot hunt with a handgun in Canada!
To bring your firearm into Canada:

You must be at least 18 years old. (Call the Canadian
Firearms Centre for options for minors) |

You must declare your firearms at your first point of
entry. |

You must fill out a “Non-Resident Firearms Declaration
Form” (be sure not to sign it until you are in front
of the customs officer) |

Be sure to check with your airline prior to your departure
date to ensure you now their policy for transporting firearms
and ammunition. |
